About

Kate Watson is a new country pop artist from Montgomery, Texas. Her music career may have officially started when she was 15 years old, but music has always been a major part of her life. As the daughter of Christian recording artist and worship leader Jesse Watson, Kate’s first recording was a song her father wrote especially for her called “Forever I’m Yours”. It appeared on his album What a Hope. Music is clearly in her blood: her mother played drums in his band, and introduced Kate to both piano and music theory. The three still work together at Montgomery’s Lone Star Cowboy Church, the largest cowboy church in the world and the home of country recording artists such as Cody Johnson and Jesse Raub, Jr. In fact, that’s where country star Parker McCollum first heard Kate. ABOUT “She’s the real deal,” he said. “She has the total package, the voice, the look and the way she connects. I am looking forward to great things from her.” Kate will spend most of 2021 tracing Parker’s footsteps by strategically building her audience across Texas and the Southwest. It’s a Field of Dreams of sorts for her, and. if she builds it, they – meaning Music Row – will come. With a mix of influences from Gabby Barrett and Carrie Underwood to Demi Lovato and Meghan Trainor, she’s got both country authenticity and pop radio hooks. You may remember Kate from the 2019 season of American Idol, where she received a standing ovation from Lionel Richie after singing his hit “Hello.” Her vocal chops are hard-earned: she is a student of renowned vocal coach Tom McKinney (Beyonce, Maddie & Tae, Pentatonix). In the end, however, it’s the music that is most important. She wants her fans to know that she loves creating music, working hard and seeing the results, and, most importantly, she loves people. Her main goal is to give listeners hope through her songs.
